Services & Approaches

Telemental Health

Services are offered through secure, HIPPA compliant synchronous video conferencing allowing you to meet with your provider from a location that is convenient for you.  Reseach suggests video conferencing therapy is as affective, and at times more effective than traditional in-office sessions for people with certain conditions such as anxiety and PTSD. Studies suggest telemental health improves the connection between a client and a therapist free of the oppressive power differential that can occur when a client has to present to a therapist's office. Currently, sessions are available to residents of New Jersey.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. During EMDR, external stimuli like bilateral eye movements and sound are used while a client attends to a disturbing memory.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)

Avoiding reminders of distressing experiences including thoughts, people, and places is a common response to trauma. However, while this avoidance can create temporary comfort, continued avoidance contributes to suffering as is keeps you from living a full life. PE provides you an opportunity to approach memories and situations in a methodical and systematic way. Through planned approaching you can make sense of your traumatic memories, learn the difference between feeling anxiety and being unsafe, decrease fear, and feel better about yourself. PE is focused on getting back to life!
